This new blogger makes it a bit too easy to change everything. I am not sure if I will add all the elements back into my blog. I did save the HTML code just in case. I think I will leave it plain for a little bit.

Annual Review

I had my annual review last week at work. It is kind of interesting that they assess our work for the previous year half way into this year. It did make setting goals last year easy... I had already had a good start on the goals before they even got set. I did not have to set any goals for this year. I went well beyond last years goals. According to my manager, I am underpaid and one of the top members on my team. So that means a large raise(15%) and he said next year he will try to put through the same size raise.

Restraunt Review... Blue moon

We all went last night to Blue Moon Buffet for Mom's Birthday dinner. The selection was not all that great. We did hav fun though. Madelyn was allowed to try anything.... She does not like jello for some reason, but ...

It's Buffalo, it snows...

We got a little bit of snow over the weekend. The south towns got a lot. It is also cold, very cold. It was so bad this morning, that I got in my truck, put it in reverse and did not move at all. I looked down and made sure I was in reverse and tried again, no go. Third time I gunned it and the started pulsing the gas. I heard pop, pop as the ice/snow broke away. I never thought a vechile would be frozen to the driveway. then when I adjusted the volume and channel on my radio, the volume and station changed but it took the display a while to catch up. The temp has jumped 5 degrees since I have been at work. It is up to 4 now, but the wind chill is -17. It is suppose to snow all week, but it is also suppose to slowly warm up... Saturday the high is forecasted at 21. Here is a couple of fun links...

Good for work, good for home?

A few weeks ago I decided I would benefit from having a dual monitor setup. So I had my manager find me a dual video card. Now to make room on my desk, I had to get rid of the old 17 inch CRT monitor and then get two flat screen monitors.

Now, hearing rummers of an easy way of getting involed in the Payne Fam AOE3 games, I wonder if AOE3 would work over multiple monitors and if so would each monitor need the video memory. The computer at home has two video cards but only only one has the added video memory. Besides that, there is not room on the desk for an additional monitor at home.

Its back

Power just came back on. 62 and a half hours in the dark. Hopefully this is not a teaser taste of power. The smoke detector beeped once when the power came on and the dog went to bed.

You got to do what you got to do sometimes.

No power means no high speed internet. We are able to use the dialup to connect to the hospital. This only works so long as we have power to the laptops. At some point the battery on Dad's laptop died. He needed to connect to the Hospital. We have a car adapter, so it was a matter of getting the laptop charged in the van and have a phone line at the same time.

So much for it not sticking. I guess it is time to find the scrapper and put it in the truck.

The Sky is falling

I have been getting to work early, because they are taking one of the buildings down and we lost some parking until they are done. I have to get there early to get a spot. The building was coming down fast but they are having problems with this last part.

I have been sitting in my truck until it gets closer to the time I should be at work. This morning it was raining, and then I noticed some solid stuff coming down in the rain. It was not much. The ground is too warm for anything to stick, but they are already talking about lake effect.

You can see in this photo some of this solid precipitation that was on the cover of my truck this morning.

Back to Work

Today was my first day back. Everyone seemed glade to have me back. They have gotten a little behind. As I was headed in this morning, someone in administration asked how I was and said they heard I had surgery and was glade to see that I was doing better. I am not sure how they found out. It was kind of a long day but I made it through. I am ready for a nap.
