Cow Training
Work sent me and one other tech, Tim, to South Carolina for training on the computer on wheels. Rioux, the company that makes our COWs, wants us trained on the device. This allows us to work on them and not void the warrenty.
Day one(Tuesday) - travel
The flight was at 11 something in the morning. I got to airport at 9 something. There was no line so it took less the ten minuste to get all to the gate and I spent the two hours play AOE. We flew into DC with no problem. While I was at DC I called Amy and confused her a bit. We got in the plane and it took them a while to get the fuel in the plane and then when the plane was waiting in line to take off, the piolet announce that they were told to shut off their engines and that air traffic was suspended and we sat there for over an hour. We got into Columbia about two hours late. We stayed at the Wingate hotel. This was a decent place to stay.
Day two - First day of training
Training was ok. They had us go through the different stations assembling the devices. They took us to Red Robin for lunch. Then we had a short class and a test. It was interesting. After we got out of there we went to the state capitol building. During the Civil War when Sherman came through burning everything this build was being built. A few cannons were fired at this building and when it was finished, Stars were place on the building to show where the cannon balls hit. There was a monument to the Confederate army in the front and a Confederate flag was flying there. My phone died and I dont have my cameria. We saw a few mansions and a few other points of interest. We saw the statium for CSU. That is one huge statium. It is a good three or four times the size of the one UB has. After that we went on a hunt for new hats. Drove around for hours and did not find anything.
Day three
More training. today we did more of the trouble shooting side of things. The took us to a place called red bowl, which was a asian restarant. After lunch we talked with the owner and got our certificates and they let us out early. We went to the airport from there and found a place to gets hats on the way. So I got my hat. Hopefully we will not have any issues on the flight home.

Quote of the day
Anatidaephobia is the fear that no matter where you go, or what you do; somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.

I have a 24 inch monitor sitting in my office. It will not be deployed for a couple of weeks. I wonder how AOE would look on it.

New template
This new blogger makes it a bit too easy to change everything. I am not sure if I will add all the elements back into my blog. I did save the HTML code just in case. I think I will leave it plain for a little bit.

Annual Review
I had my annual review last week at work. It is kind of interesting that they assess our work for the previous year half way into this year. It did make setting goals last year easy... I had already had a good start on the goals before they even got set. I did not have to set any goals for this year. I went well beyond last years goals. According to my manager, I am underpaid and one of the top members on my team. So that means a large raise(15%) and he said next year he will try to put through the same size raise.
