Cooking Review - Slow cooker

I broke in the slow cooker today. I made sloppy joes. I did not follow the recipe too well. I put in have the peppers and onions that was called for. It turned out good.

This is how I made it:

Brown 2 pounds ground beef with 2 medium onions cut into slivers. Then I put that in the slow cooker with 2 medium red peppers sliced up, 1 medium green pepper sliced, 1 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mixed it all up and cooked on low for 8 hours.

Cooking review - Cookies

So tonight I baked cookies. They turned out good. None burned and like usual my first batch was the best. Nothing fancy just chocolate chip cookies, but I was able to confirm what I had guessed before I made the Bread... my oven runs about 25 degrees higher than it says. I baked both at the lower temp with good results. Too many cookies and I have chocolate milk....

Cooking review

I made some white bread on Saturday. It turned out good. I will have to see how well the next batch turns out. I took half a loaf to Mom's and putting more than half a loaf in the freezer. It is different cooking for one. Not many recipies are designed for just one. I end up throwing stuff in the fridge or freezer, and having leftovers another time.

Training Anyone?

Someone started this week on my team. This is the third or fourth person I have trained on my team. I have train everyone who as started after me except for one who started while I was still a temp. Dom has them spend a week training with me then they spend a couple of days at each of the other locations and then another week with me and then they go to the site they end up at. This guy should do well. He came over from the data center so he know a lot of our programs already and he had hardware experience at a previous job. His is going to be at BGH, so I do not have to crame too much too fast. It will be nice to have a "full" staff back at BGH. We are a little behind.

completed tasks

Missy was kind enough to select fabric and reupholster my dining room chairs. So, Friday I cut the pad and sat pulling the old stuff off the chiars and she up the new stuff on as soon as I had all the old fabric and staples off.

Yesterday I got my washer, and I had dad come over to help install the dryer. There was two different size gas pipes one size coming from the house and another size on the dryer.

Yesterday I also got a lawnmower and put it together and mowed my lawn. I guess I should
have had the bag on for the first run through. Looks like I will have some work to do on the front yard. There are a few bare spots and bunch of dips and holes.
