Mahalo nui loa, Tutu

Ben got a blanket in the mail today from his Hawaiian grandma, Coreen. We like it. Ben wants to say thanks to his Tutu, and thanks from us too.

Restaurant Review: Ichiban

There is a new Japanese Restaurant on Sheridan. Lisa' s Aunt wanted a bunch of us to go to it with Yoh, their exchange student, before he went back to Japan. I had the Chicken Teriyaki and Lisa had the chicken from the grill. Ben did not seem to be too bothered by the noise the chef was making while he cooked at our table, or by the flames. When the chef got to our table he threw the veggies on and then started pulling a sliced onion apart into rings and stacked them. He then filled his "volcano" with something and lite it. It flamed like a volcano. Food was OK, but Lisa's would have been better if we had a smaller group of people. Her rice and veggies cooled off some before her chicken was done, because the chef was cooking so much at once.

Dream

Normally I cannot remember my dreams, but I remember the one I had last night. It starts out cool. Lisa hands me an envelope and says we have to take it somewhere. We get to a house and she has me run it up to the front door. They take the envelope and say it is around back in the barn, and then open the envelope and there is a check inside. OK... what did we just buy? I have to go to the barn to see. We go open the barn doors and there is my dream car, a 1940's- 50's pickup truck fully restored, and we had just paid cash for it. Nice. Thanks Honey. Then in the next part of the dream, I am moping around, because someone had borrowed the truck and totaled it! Then he comes up to me and says it was just a car, it will be ok. No, it was not just a car it was my special truck. So is the meaning of this dream that if I ever do get the truck, no one is allowed to borrow it; or is the meaning easy come easy go?

Almost Fixed

They finally decided that I was not at fault in the least for the accident on Easter. http://djpayne.blogspot.com/2008/03/car-accident.html We took my truck in to Schmidt's Collision last Wednesday and they said it would take a week to repair. We got a call on Saturday and they said it was ready. When we got there they said that the key was above the visior and they had me sign some things. I took one of the reps to go over it with me and I found that the bumper was not even and they had not replaced the grill. They took it into the garage and played with the bumper for a while and told me that it was an after market bumper and that could be part of the issue. I was not going to take the truck back until I was satisfied with what was done, so they kept it longer. Today when I talked to them, they said it would be ready by 4:30 this afternoon. When we got there today he had to go see if it was ready. He brought the truck out front and gave me a story about how the person that was working on the truck left early today, but had painted the grill and he got someone to attach it. The bumper still was not right and the paint had marks in it from where they tried to force it to where it was suppose to be. He told us that if they were to try to repaint it this week, it would make it look worse and that I needed to bring it back in two or three weeks. We are sitting at two months after the accident and another couple of weeks to go before everything is taken care of.

Sleep

Ben slept from 10 pm until 5 this morning! Lisa and I went to sleep a little after 11, so we got about 6 hours of uninterupted sleep.

Sshhh! The baby is sleeping.

This is how Ben was sleeping when I checked on him. I guess we were being too loud.
