Should be cooked first

I was snapping Green beans for dinner, and Ben grabs a bean out of the bag and puts it in his mouth and start chewing it. He looks at me and makes a face, but continues to chew. Then he decides he had enough of it and spits it all out. I hope he at least tries it once it is cooked and not just think it is the same.

Earthquake or a really heavy machine?

I was working on a COW on the 13th floor of the tower at BGH this afternoon. The floor started to shake, and the nurses around me started asking each other what that was, and an X-ray tech that happened to be rolling a portable x-ray machine said it was just his machine. We were like it feels a bit different than that. Then people started saying that it could have been an earthquake. That is what I kept hearing as I was walking back to my office. When I got to my office, I checked and sure enough, there was a 5.5 earthquake in Canada. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqarchives/last_event/world/world_canada.php They just sent out a system wide email, two hours after the fact, stating that there was a confirmed earthquake, but no damage reported in any of the facilities or Western NY.

Can you say Ice Cream

Amy and the kids came over for dinner this evening. After dinner we all walked over to DQ for ice cream.

No disassemble... Johny 5 is alive

Ben like pulling stuff apart and I think he is trying to figure out how they work. This, in most cases, is fine if we can get it back together, but some things just don't go back together... like this sunscreen from the car... Oh well. I remember pulling apart toys, clocks and the family computer way back when. All part of the learning process.

My Big Helper

I put Ben's new bed together last night. The instructions said that the assembly require two people, so Ben was the second person. He was a big help. He put all the pegs in the holes and he would try to screw in the screws. He understands the screwdriver screw relationship, but did not get that there were both hex and philips heads, and he was not able to screw it in when he had the right tool. As soon as I had the slats in, he climbed up there and was walking back and forth on them. He seemed to have fun putting it together and he slept in it last night, though he had me sit in the rocker until he was asleep.

You wont like me when I'm angry...

Ben was over tired tonight. I went to get him ready for bed and he found me the entire time. Then when I went to take him upstairs, he decided to take it out on the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. He started shoving the gate with all his weight wider than it could open. Then, before I could pull him off the gate, the hinges and brackets shattered. That put a end to the tantrum. He was then upset that he had broke it and wanted it fixed. He went right to bed after that without any further argument.
