Not ready to give up the bottle just yet

I have not been giving Ben a bottle during the day, but give him one when he goes to bed. Today I asked him if it was time for bed, and he grabbed his blanket and the sippy cup and goes to the gate at the bottom of the stairs. OK... We go up the stairs, I change his diaper, and tell Ben to get in bed. He looks at his sippy cup and then picks it up and hands it to me, Then grabs my hand and takes me to the gate at the top of the stairs. He said Ba and then waited for me to go get him a bottle and then he was ready to go to bed. He just can't want to.

Wrapping Moms present

I went to wrap Lisa's present today and Ben wanted to help. Ben was such a big help, but at one point Ben picked up the scissors and started cutting the scrap paper. I had to stop what I was doing and hide them. When we were done, I put one present under the tree and Ben went to the table and started putting all of them under the tree.

More Photos of Ben

Better than falling out of Bed...

We found Ben sleeping like this the other night. If the mattress was not on the floor, that would have been bad.

Talking on Skype while cooking dinner

Ben was talking to Charlie on Skype and I had to move the conversation into the kitchen so I could finish making dinner. I love laptops.

Ben needs a hat... and a helmet

Ben likes wearing my cowboy hats. He also likes putting buckets on his head like a helmet and run around.

I truly lose myself when I read books. My surroundings and time all seem to fade away until they are mere ambient senses. Minutes fly by as seconds. I have been reading a book while I have been riding the train into work. I have to pull myself away every so often to make sure that I have not missed my stop. The book that I have been reading tends to invite me to visualize some concepts or experiments. Once in a while I will look up to do these mental experiments and the faces and number of people on the train will have completely changed since I had sat down. I am also a very slow reader. I am not sure if that is because or adds to my getting engrossed in the book. I can set a book down for days or weeks and by reading the last sentence be able to pick right back up where I left off.

He's got Boots!?

I went and got Flu shots today. While I was waiting in line, I was asked a couple of computer questions, and then when I sat down for the shot, the nurse asked if while I was there I could fix what was wrong with her phone (just had to go in the menu and take it off hands free answer). After the shots she put this sticker on me, and as I was walking out, someone in line shouted out, "He's got Boots!" Then she asked if I could tell she has kids.

Anniversary

Lisa and my anniversary was on Sunday. We went to dinner and a movie. For dinner went to a place called Bravo in the Galleria Mall. It was our first time at this restaurant, but we really liked this place. It is going to be one of our favorites. I gave her a necklace at dinner. The Regal theater is right around the corner in the mall from Bravo, so we wandered around the mall for a while and then went to see the movie Where the Wild Things Are. It was a enjoyable night.

Pumpkin Farm

We took Ben to find a pumpkin. He had fun checking out all the pumpkins. He also wanted to check out the farm animals, but was not allowed to.

Kid's Cuts-R-Fun

We took Ben to get is first hair cut this evening. He did really well. He sat still and let her cut his hair. This place that we took him to is geared to little kids. There was lots of toys and he was able to watch TV while his hair was getting cut.
