Employee Appreciation Luau

They had a employee appreciation picnic at work today. It kind of had a Hawaiian theme to it. They handed out plastic Leis as we walked through the door. They had a band there.

We have a fence

The Fence

I was able to finish clearing the backyard before we left for vacation. Today they came to start the fence. It is almost done. They have to wait until Monday to finish, so that the posts holding the gate have time to set. It looks good so far.

Ben's Firetruck

Lisa's Mom got this for Ben. I had a little trouble blowing it up when we got home. I ended up pulling apart my bike pump and rigging up something to do so. Ben seems to really like it, but we tend to find balls all over.

Vacation Day 4

Today we went to the pool. Ben was not too thrilled with being in the water, but he started to warm up to it.

Vacation Part 2

Friday we went to Lisa's brother, Charlie's graduation, then graduation/ birthday party. Toward the end of the party, every time we turned around, Ben was stealing cheese off the table.





















Yesterday, we went to Lisa's sister, Meagan's softball games. She won both games. Ben did a lot better than I thought he would. He seemed to have fun.

Vacation

We made it to Virginia. It was a long drive. Ben had a couple of melt downs on the way. It is kind of hard to keep a kid so active entertained while he is strapped into a car seat for so long. We took both laptops and a couple of movies. My laptop played the sound on the dvds but not the video. Lisa's laptop played the movies, but the lid does not open as wide as mine, so I had to hold it funny to allow Ben to watch the movie. He would watch the movie for half an hour at a time and then either get cranky or try to kick or play with the laptop. We need to figure out something better for the next trip. We stopped at a rest stop for lunch. Ben got a apple juice with his meal at Burger King, and at first he would open his mouth and have me squirt it in. Then, I think he was watching us suck our pops through the straws, and he started closing his mouth as the straw went in. Then he started sucking. He is now able to drink through a straw. That did not take too long to learn. He is way to smart.
