Escape Artist

Late last year, we had Ben sleeping in a regular bed. Then around the time Julie was born, he reverted to the crib, and will not go back to sleeping in the bed. He is getting very good at climbing out of the crib. He can be very fast and silent. You can walk out of the room, shut the door and in a little bit, the door may slowly open and he will peek out to see if you were still there. From what I can tell, he climbs onto the changing table that is part of the crib and then jump onto or into the cow toy bin. The bin is soft and collapses and has stuffed animals in it, so it probably makes for a nice landing. I found him climbing out of the bin one of the times I went to check on him. Smart, brave little 2 year = big trouble. We really have to make sure the baby gates on the stairs stay closed, especially with him being able to open doors and the fridge.

Got Milk?

This is Ben's new thing. I will be in the living room feeding Julie, or otherwise tied up, and he will go into the fridge and get the milk jug or a cheese stick or whatever he thinks he needs and bring it back into the living room.

Ben just handed me the phone and it sounded like he said he wanted to talk to Momma. Then I asked if he wanted to talk to momma, and he said please.

Network Issues

"When a Fail-Safe system fails, it fails by failing to fail safe." - John Gall

I come into work today, and on the elevator someone from another department says to me that I will have a fun day today, all the computers are down. Okay, whatever. I get to my office, and yes the entire network is down. I cannot get to any internal sites nor to the internet! Then I find out that the shipment of COWs just showed up in receiving. Well, that at least gives me something to do. We bring the herd of 51 up to our area, and then I go to the computer room to see how things are going. They were still trying to figure out what had happened. It looked like all the servers and applications were running, but the was no communication. They have been trying to bring things back slowly and there has been stuff up and down throughout the system. I just got internet up and am still waiting on the internal stuff to be up. What happened to the redundant systems that are suppose to prevent this. 5-6 hours of downtime is a long time.

Update: It looks like the redundant system that was suppose to prevent this was the cause.

Lacrosse anyone?

Darren and Evan were outside with one of the kids from down the street playing lacrosse. Ben kept running to the door to watch them, and then I changed him into his pajamas and he escaped out the door when Maddy went out. He grabbed a stick and was right there trying to play with the boys.

Easter

Amy hide eggs for the kids, and Ben decided to readjust the location of them before Evan and Maddy got there. There ended up being a pile of them under his high chair.

Julies Baby Blanket from Grandma Payne

Mom finished Julie's blanket and brought it over today. Ben is trying to claim it as his.
