They rolled a new chair into my office yesterday. No more hand me down.
It was nice out this morning so I had to get some of the yard work done. I was able to finish cutting the back yard before Ben got up. Then we went to Lowes for some supplies. Ben liked the car carts they had. I started digging up a small area in the back yard when we got home. Ben thought this was fun and his gulf club became a shovel. Once the area was cleared out, I got the sand out and started leveling it in the hole. At this point it was almost impossible to keep Ben out. He thought is was a sandbox just for him. I was able to finish and now we have a little walkway/ spot for the trash can. It is not the best one I have done, but it good enough for the trash. Then it was lunch time and he at and then went down for a nap. I was able to cut the front yard while he was sleeping. I finished just in time. It started raining as I was finishing up.

I took the train in to work this morning and when I got on the train I saw this sign. I thought it was funny. Metro is a drug? Am I addicted? Is there a support group for it? It makes more sense with the rest of the poster, but not as funny.
I got a chocolate shake for Lisa yesterday. When we got to Lisa's work, I asked Ben if he wanted to try it. I did not think he could actually suck anything out of the straw. He could, he did and oh man did he like it. So later in the evening, I took Ben down the street to DQ, and got us a shake. I think he might have had more of it than me.
The tech from yesterday to the case number of the hard drive that I was waiting for and made some calls. I guess he got the story from them that it was delivered (in Indiana) and he convinced them that that was a couple of states away and got the ticket placed in his queue. He hand delivered the hard drive to me this morning. Finally.
I had Windows 7 Beta loaded on my laptop yesterday. Thanks Dad. ![]()
I have a Beta swimming on my desktop… I have it as my primary OS, but can boot into XP if I need to. I think at this point all the programs I need are loaded and working, or close enough to call it functional.
Some things seem to work better and others don’t. Now I get to play around with it and see what I like and what I don’t.
On Father’s day I was called into work for a computer that had the “Blue Screen of Death.” It ended up being a bad hard drive. The following day I submitted it to HP for warranty replacement. Replacements usually come the next day, maybe two at the most. On Thursday I went down to receiving, because no one had brought it up yet. They said they would have brought it up if it had gotten here. Early the next week, I got a call from HP to see if the part resolved the problem. I told them I had not seen the part yet. They then said it was signed for a gave me the name of the person that signed for it. I told them I would go check with receiving again and they said they would call back later in the week to make sure I got it. I went back down to receiving and they said they did not recognize the name but if I had a tracking number them would find out where it was for me. HP finally called me back this week, and I was able to get a tracking number from them. As I was talking to them, i asked what the address was where it was sent, this should have been right since it was submitted online, and I have done a lot of equipment that way. It went to somewhere in New Paris, Indiana. I gave them the correct info and they are going to send it out again. I check my profile on the HP repair site and the info there is correct. I have no idea how this got messed up. I still have not seen the part. Hopefully it will be here soon.
